Hernando County Government Phishing Email Alert

(Brooksville, FL) – It has been brought to the attention of Hernando County Government that a phishing email is going around appearing as if it were on behalf of Hernando County Government targeting contractors.

This particular email asks for contractors to click a suspicious link by stating “Dear Hernando County Contractor, Please see the attached file for an important message from Hernando County.” The email then prompts individuals to “Save and open the attachment Hernando Contractor.html and follow the instructions to access the document.” This email did not come from Hernando County Government and has been directly reported to appropriate authorities.
