The Santa Clara Police Department will join with the Drug Enforcement Administration and offer the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by disposing their dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Members of the community are invited to drop off medications for disposal at the designated location outside the Santa Clara Police Department. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Police officers have a vital role to play in fighting a major killerโsudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Santa Claraโs public safety arsenal is expanding to include automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to give anyone struck down by SCA another chance at life.

A community meeting hosted by the Santa Clara Police Department, 49ers Management Company and the Valley Transportation Authority is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7 from 7:00-8:30pm at Don Callejon School, 4176 Lick Mill Boulevard in Santa Clara. The meeting will include an opportunity for residents and business owners to provide constructive feedback. No RSVP is necessary.
